Daily Reading Schedule for 1/2 a year


Starting June 1st and December 1st

Genesis 10 days 5 chapters each

Exodus 5 days 8 chapters each

Leviticus 3 days 9 chapters each

Numbers 4 days 9 chapters each

Deuteronomy 17 days 2 chapters each

Joshua 4 days 6 chapters each

Judges 3 days 7 chapters each

Ruth 1 day

I Samuel 7 days divided 4-4-4-7-4-4-4 chapters

II Samuel 4 days 6 chapters each

I Kings 2 days 11 chapters each (434 verses on the 1st day)

II Kings 5 days 5 chapters each

I Chronicles 3 days 9-11-9 chapters

II Chronicles 6 days 6 chapters each

Ezra 2 days 5 chapters each

Nehemiah 1 day (404 verses)

Esther 2 days 5 chapters each

Job 6 days 7 chapters each (my wife reads it 7,7,8,9,6,5) it divides by conversation) She's kind of a rebel. If I wasn't so stuck on myself, I'd probably read it that way also.

Psalms 10 days 15 chapters each (Psalms 105-120 is 437 verses)

Proverbs -This is the exception. At some point during one month of my choosing. I will add the Proverb chapter of the day to my reading. I choose to do it in the 1st month meaning that from June 1st through July 1st, I read one chapter of Proverbs a day, and then again December 1st through December 31st.

Ecclesiastes 2 days of 6 chapters each

The Song of Solomon 1 day

Isaiah 11 days of 6 chapters each (I love those days)

Jeremiah 4 days of 13 chapters each

Lamentations 1 day

Ezekiel 8 days at 6 chapters each

Daniel 2 days at 6 chapters each

Hosea 2 days at 7 chapters each

Joel 1 day

Amos 1 day

Obadiah and Jonah 1 day

Micah 1 day

Nahum 1 day

Habakkuk 1 day

Zephaniah and Haggai 1 day

Zechariah 2 days at 7 chapters each

Malachi 1 day

Matthew 7 days at 4 chapters each

Mark 4 days at 4 chapters each

Luke 6 days at 4 chapters each

John 3 days at 7 chapters each

Acts 4 days at 7 chapters each

Romans 2 days at 8 chapters each

I Corinthians 2 days at 8 chapters each

II Corinthians 1 day ( a shorter day than the second half of I Corinthians)

Galatians 1 Day

II John, III John and Jude 1 day (in the 182 day schedule of June 1st November 30th. In the longer schedule between December 1st and May 31st read Jude on a separate day. (On leap years go wild, read II John and III John on separate days in the December through May cycle.)

Revelation 2 days 11 chapters each

Amazingly, reading the Bible on a schedule that honors the natural divisions becomes less tedious. The change up really helps. You will quickly become convinced of the inspiration of the verse and chapter markings.
