The Originals are Just Copies
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven, Psalm 119:89.
For most of the readers of this blog the issue of the King James Bible is settled to one degree or another. For the most part this blog deals with historical issues relating to the various editions of the King James Bible, word studies, and doctrinal challenges. To be a King James Bible believer is to have overcome the rather silly objection that only the original manuscripts as handwritten by the authors could ever claim infallibility.
The bad news for those people who willing flounder in the rather shallow waters of such a deceit is that the original copies of all scripture are in heaven. What the various writers did was to copy what was already settled in heaven. Look at what the Angel Gabriel told Daniel. But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince, Daniel 10:21. What follows is the entirety of Daniel chapter 11. Before Daniel ever wrote down the words given to him, that scripture had already been written and settled in heaven.
Some might object that scripture contains history and dialogue that had not yet occurred. Before we look at the obvious ability of the Lord to know all things aforetime, consider Moses. He wrote of his own death and delivered it to the priests of Israel before it ever happened. And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel, Deuteronomy 31:9.
The word of God is far more sacred and holy than can be understood by those who so lightly toy with it as if it was an exercise for their intellects. Long before God ever created the first angel, air molecule, or formed the first star, the word of God was settled in heaven. If you cannot conceive of a God who can write history before it ever happens, you need to dump your god and get the God of Israel. Read all about it in a King James Bible. You'll understand what is written in heaven.
