Thing (That Holy Thing)

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God, Luke 1:35.
Question: Does the term "Son of God" refer to an eternal status? In other words, is he the "eternally begotten Son of God" found in Roman Catholic mythology? Or, is correct to say that the term "Son of God" refers to his flesh?
From time to time, I run across commentators who find fault with the term "holy thing". They are troubled by the idea of calling Jesus Christ a "thing". The word of God did not call Jesus Christ a "thing". It called the part of him donated by Mary’s body a thing. The reason they object is because they have a medieval or even a Babylonian concept of the term "Son of God”.
One of the many beauties to the King James Bible is its absolutely cutting precision. In Luke 1:35, the King James Bible has differentiated itself from the concept that Jesus Christ was eternally begotten of the Father. The soul and the spirit of Jesus Christ were not born of God. They are eternal. They were never created or born.
It is the physical body of Jesus Christ that is called "the Son of God". If you believe your King James Bible for exactly what it says you can come to no other conclusion. It is that holy thing, that body that God has prepared that is called the Son of God.
That flesh was designed by the Father and begotten of the Father. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell, Colossians 1:19. The flesh of Jesus Christ came from two sources just as any normal physical birth comes from a father's contribution and from a mother's egg. The difference with the flesh of Jesus Christ is that the Father's contribution is from God, not from any man on earth.
The flesh of Jesus Christ is composed of all that is God, For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, Colossians 2:9. And it is composed of the seed of David through Mary. Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, Romans 1:3. In the following verses the Apostle John went to great lengths to convey that.
1st John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1st John 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1st John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
No one touched, saw, or heard the spirit or soul of Jesus Christ. What they touched, saw, and heard was his physical body. They saw God manifest in the flesh. When they saw his flesh, they saw the eternal word of God made flesh. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth, John 1:14.
He is the only begotten of the Father. The various versions and translations become downright silly when they try to express that. There are many sons of God listed in the bible. There is only one son of God whose very flesh was born of God.
If the Roman government had had the technical ability to take a DNA sample from the baby Jesus Christ, they would have not found any match on this earth for an earthly father. Therefore he is called, the Son of God. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him, 1st John 4:9.
Your King James Bible cut through all of the misinformation about Jesus Christ. He is eternal God. He is the creator of all things. He was born of a virgin. That holy thing inside of that virgin is the Son of God. That is the body. The spirit and soul are eternal God and were never born of God on this earth or in eternity past.

Amen and amen! Praise the LORD for his wonderful works to the children of men! (His name shall be called Wonderful!) Thanks for this post. This blessed my soul.
Blessings brother 🙏🏻
